There is no way to convince a person who is raised in a capitalist system why “arbitrary censorship” is way better than “democracy” where all significant media is capitalist owned. Afaik, the afaq rightfully claims that both direct democracy and consent are legit ways of anarchist group decisionmaking. I’d agree if you said it doesnt shed light of things like qualified majorities which are used in anarcho syndicalism quite a bit.

Not sure I’d call it stimming but deep thinking, jumping in rabbitholes or thinking about special interests is both typical and very soothing. I went into IT after my diagnosis because the amount of rabbitholes is just fun. I would say stimming soothes the brain when under stress or load. Deep thinking can do similar but can also cause stress and load which needs additional thinking. At least thats how I experience it.

They’re just not really useful. None of this was a huge problem before. LLMs make short work of some scenarios but mostly they take longer to correct than the skilled person would have taken to write from scratch.

Yes, in a perfect world, the use of LLMs and the like (there is no AI), would be a good way to extend human capabilities. We dont live in that world. In the world we live in, LLMs are net negative for workers, the planet and even small businesses, period.

LLMs should only be used in scientific scenarios. Profiting of them should be outlawed and energy usage should generally be priced exponentially, not only for LLMs.

As someone who works in the field, the whole topic is hype only for those not understanding LLMs and those only understanding LLMs and not reality. We have neither the need for large scale LLM rollout, nor do we have a big benefit from it. Stop believing such nonsense please.

So, get us a stateless, classless society and then you can have LLMs, not before.
